Bargaining Status

First, to our full members, thank you for participating in the contract survey. It is important for us to hear from our members and get your input on what’s important to you.

Secondly, we have been waiting for MMB to set our bargaining dates before we finalize our proposals. And finally, we’ve received dates that are mid- July and early August. With this, our bargaining team can move into finalizing our proposals. The committee will meet in the next few weeks to do this.

Nick Witter, MMA President and chair of the Negotiations Committee, has been sitting in on the discussions regarding insurance. The discussions are with the Union Coalition and MMB. The insurance bargaining meet and confers include other unions and for MMA, he is joined by our Executive Director Gary Kloos and Business Representative Melissa Scheid. The opening proposals are included in this email.

Finally, with regards to our bargaining proposals, we are not finished with them but when we are we’ll share them with you; plus, what the state's proposals are too.
