Getting to Know...Jeff Cassidy, Board Member

Apr 1, 2016 8:00:00 AM

Jeff Cassidy started with the Department of Transportation 36 years ago. Jeff is currently a Transportation Operations Supervisor 2 out of the Metro Area and he joined the Middle Management Board 3 years ago. Jeff is very involved with MMA; he currently serves on our Executive Committee, which meets monthly and represents the Board and he also serves on the MMA Negotiation and Grievance Committees.

When asked what drew him to get involved with MMA and how he could support the members he answered: “I wanted to help with informing our members of some of their options that the association provides. There are a lot of the unknown resources available to our members and the word was not getting out to them. I believe in the new changes in leadership from the top down have given us a brighter vision for our future and the future for our new supervisors. MMA had been far too quiet in the past and now is making its mark with new strides in the interest of their members. MMA is now reaching out to the members, informing them with new available training. They have a new website with daily updates, when they come available, so our members are always updated on events involving them.

Some advice that Jeff would share – get involved! Take advantage of events and training that is offered to you and remember that you have a voice!

It sounds like Jeff works all the time, but he does take time to relax. He said he enjoys the outdoors with his beautiful wife and their dog Lucy. They have started to take advantage of the many lakes and fishing, which has been a big change of enjoyment.   After work Jeff and his wife also enjoy golfing or just relaxing on their deck. He is looking forward to retiring soon but we hope to hold on to him for a little while longer!
