What is the Scholarship Program?
Each year Middle Management Association MMA) may award up to twenty-five (25) scholarships of $1,500 each. The scholarship program is for traditional educational based coursework where a diploma or certificate is the result from a post-high school accredited educational institution.
Who is Eligible?
An eligible applicant is a dues-paying MMA member, and/or a legally married spouse, and/or a dependent child* who is working towards either an academic degree or certificate at an accredited college, university, or technical school training program.
MEMBERS OF THE SCREENING COMMITTEE AND THEIR DEPENDENT CHILDREN ARE EXCLUDED FROM CONSIDERATION.
How to Apply!
Obtain an official application form through the link below. Submit the completed official application form and a 1 - 2-page personal statement. The application and personal statement must be completed through the website between January 15, 2025, and March 15, 2025, 4:30 pm.
APPLICATIONS RECEIVED IN THE MMA OFFICE AFTER 4:30 PM MARCH 15th WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. AND IF MARCH 15TH FALLS ON A SATURDAY OR SUNDAY, APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 4:30 PM ON THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS DAY.
The 1-2-page personal statement is written by the applicant and is required to accompany the application form. The statement should include the following information as applicable to your academic status: applicant’s current GPA (if applicable), career and educational goals, work experience, academic and extracurricular experiences, community involvement, personal interests, activities, and why this scholarship is important to you, and your anticipated graduation date.
Conditions of Scholarship Program Fulfillment:
Before scholarship money is awarded, scholarship recipients must provide registration verification for courses, a copy of a payment receipt for said courses and, an official transcript verifying course completion with at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average for courses from a post-high school accredited educational institution.
The deadline to submit required documents is between September 1, 2025 - September 1, 2026. Late submissions forfeit their scholarship. Payment for the award will occur within two weeks after submission and made directly to the applicant.
MMA members must be a full-paying member at the time of the award announcement and retain full paying membership while MMA eligible. Any exception will be reviewed, and the reward may be revoked by the MMA Executive Committee.
Scholarships are not renewable or transferrable. Scholarship recipients may reapply each year. Eligible course dates are defined as the start of the fall session (August 1, 2025) through the end of the summer session (July 31, 2026).
* As defined in the MMA Labor Agreement under Article 17 – Insurance, second paragraph, Section 2.C2 – “dependent child”.
