Getting to Know...Thomas Maida, Board Member

Dec 13, 2016 9:12:14 AM

Thomas Maida has been with the State for 19 years as the Director of Public Safety at Metropolitan State University… and before that, three years as the Director of Safety at the Minneapolis Veterans Home.

He joined the MMA Board of Directors in 2012 and feels that our primary purpose is to exceed in meeting the needs and expectations of our members, staff and employers. Thomas decided to become involved in MMA because he wanted to support our members and feels the best way to do so, is by listening to the their interests and helping create positive work experiences.

When asked, Thomas said the best advice I can offer current members is that they should have a voice in MMA, become involved and help create an environment that they would be proud of as managers. The daily contributions our MMA members make will have a direct impact on so many in our State and at so many different levels.

In Thomas’s spare time outside of work, he says he is an old fashion family guy with a wife, two kids and loves dining, movies and travel…
