Got a question about the 2022 MMA Fall Conference?

Here are some answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

When is the conference?

            Monday, October 17th – Tuesday, October 18th.

 

Where will the conference take place?

            Cragun’s Resort on Gull Lake, 11000 Cragun’s Drive, Brainerd, MN 56401.

 

How do I show interest in attending the conference? SOLD OUT

  1. Talk with your supervisor and get approval to attend.
  2. Email Juli Schneider jschneider@mmamn.org and provide your name, agency, and contact email before 3:00 PM on September 9, 2022.

 

How many people will attend the conference?

There is space for 150 MMA members. Registration will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

 

Do I need to be a full member to attend?

Yes, this is one of many benefits for being a full member of MMA. To become a full member, please visit the MMA website or click here to join.

            Please find the agenda here.

 

Will MMA pay for my travel expenses to attend the conference?

Mileage is not covered by MMA. Please ask your agency about being reimbursed for it.

 

Will I need to take vacation time to attend this conference?

MMB has approved the conference under Paid Educational Leave. You will not have to take vacation.

 

When will I be notified if I will be attending the conference?

The conference is limited to 150 members. MMA will notify members with reservations by September 16th.

 

What costs will MMA cover?

  1. Registration for both Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18.
  2. Lunch & Dinner on Monday, October 17, Breakfast Tuesday October 18 and breaks.
  3. Overnight accommodations for members living over 35 miles from conference venue.

 

What costs will MMA NOT cover?

  1. Travel expenses – mileage, meals, gas, etc. while in transit. Check with your supervisor to see if your agency will cover travel expenses.
  2. Sunday night accommodations. If you wish to stay, we’ll send you a link to make those reservations.
  3. Spouse attendance – you must pay for their meals separately. We’ll share a link to purchase the meals.

 

Can I attend the conference without staying overnight?

Yes, you may attend the conference and MMA will cover your lunch on Monday as well as refreshments during conference breaks. RSVP to Juli and note that you won’t be staying overnight.

 

What if I need to cancel and cannot attend the conference?

Contact Juli Schneider at the MMA office before 12:00 PM on September 14, 2022. If you cancel after September 14, 2022 or do not show up for the conference, you will be responsible for your costs associated with the conference including meals and overnight accommodations.

 

What is the dress code?

Conference attire is business casual. We recommend that you dress in layers because it is difficult to control the temperature of the meeting rooms to accommodate everyone’s comfort level.
