Scholarship Program


What is the Scholarship Program?

Each year Middle Management Association may award up to twenty (20) scholarships of $1,500 each to MMA members and/or dependent children of MMA members toward the attainment of a degree or certificate of an accredited institution.

Who is Eligible?

Eligible applicants are those who are MMA members in good standing as of the date of application, and/or their dependent children*, who are working towards the attainment of either an undergraduate or graduate degree, certificate training program, or work-related training.

MEMBERS OF THE SCREENING COMMITTEE AND THEIR DEPENDENT CHILDREN ARE EXCLUDED FROM CONSIDERATION.

How to Apply!

Request an official application form from the MMA office or print a copy from the MMA website. Submit the application on the official form between January 15th and March 15th of each year.

APPLICATIONS RECEIVED IN THE MMA OFFICE AFTER 4:30 P.M. MARCH 15th WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. IF MARCH 15TH FALLS ON A SATURDAY OR SUNDAY, APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 4:30 PM ON THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS DAY.

A personal statement by the applicant is required on why he/she is requesting this scholarship and the applicant’s career and educational goals.

Conditions Once Accepted:

Scholarship recipients must provide verification of course completion with at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average over the academic school year, from a post-high school accredited training facility via an official grade transcript before scholarship money is paid. All scholarships will be paid once a year, at the end of the academic school year.

MMA members must remain a member in good standing during the entire course curriculum; any exception will be reviewed and decided by the Executive Committee. These scholarships are not renewable but scholarship recipients may reapply each year. The year should be defined as the start of the fall session through the end of the summer session.

* As defined in the MMA Labor Agreement under Article 17 – Insurance, second paragraph, Section 2.C2 – “dependent child”.
